10 Best Trick Room Setters In Pokemon - TheGamer

Arguably, the most important stat in competitive Pokemon is Speed. The faster your Pokemon is, the more likely it is to move first. So if you want your team to move before the others, you've gotta make like Sonic and go fast!

Or do you? Slower Pokemon seem to have a trick up their sleeves. More specifically, a whole Trick Room. The move Trick Room completely reverses the turn order. That means that the slower you are, the sooner you'll move. But unlike weather and terrain, there isn't a Pokemon that can automatically set up Trick Room. So if you're going to want to take advantage of Trick Room's effects, these Pokemon will be your best choice.

10 Jellicent

Believe it or not, the most important part of setting up Trick Room is actually setting it up. There are two important things a Pokemon needs to be a successful setter: Fake Out immunity and bulk. And Jellicent has those in spades.

Because of its Ghost-typing, Jellicent is completely immune to Fake Out. But that's not all! Jellicent also has an immunity to the incredibly common Water-type attacks due to its Water Absorb ability. Combine this with great bulk and awesome support moves like Will-O-Wisp and Jellicent makes a great choice to start this list off.

9 Oranguru

Oranguru easily fills in the bulky quotient a Trick Room setter needs with stats that are similar to Jellicent. It also has that Fake Out immunity because of its ability Inner Focus which prevents flinching. So what sets it apart from other bulky Trick Room Pokemon?

That would be its signature move, Instruct. Instruct forces a Pokemon to use the last move it used a second time. For example, if you Eruption with Torkoal, Oranguru could make it use it a second time. That's immensely powerful and can easily start taking out your opponent.

8 Reuniclus

Reuniclus is a Pokemon that was built for Trick Room. It has a ton of health, a massive Special Attack stat, and almost no Speed. But does this make it a better sweeper or setter? Well, why not both?

Reuniclus is one of the rare Pokemon that is meant to set up for itself. It can recover its own health, hit almost all Pokemon with Psychic and Focus Blast, and prevent extra damage with the Magic Guard ability. And, if you just want a bulky setter, try its pre-evolution Duosion with an Eviolite!

7 Runerigus/Cofagrigus

Both Runerigus and Cofagrigus make for fantastic Trick Room setters because of their bulk, Ghost-typing, and supportive move pool. But what makes them stand out from the others is their access to Body Press, a move that uses Defense instead of Attack, and their unique abilities.

Cofagrigus has Mummy which can be used to turn an opponent's ability into Mummy as well, while Runerigus continues to swap abilities with whichever Pokemon makes contact with it. Both of these can really mess up an opponent's team synergy, especially if they rely on weather-based strats.

6 Bronzong

Because of its Steel-typing, Bronzong takes the idea of a bulky Trick Room setter to a whole new level. This is especially true since it has a whopping nine resistances! It also has two immunities, assuming that you opt for its Levitate ability variant.

Bronzong also has a ton of unique support moves like Skill Swap, Gravity, both screens, and Safeguard. Bronzong may not be the flashiest Trick Room option, but it definitely gets the job done!

5 Hatterne

Pokemon TCG Hatterene Special Card

Hatterne is another great option for a combination setter and sweeper since it has a terrifying 136 base Special Attack stat and great coverage moves like Mystical Fire and Giga Drain. But there are some other tricks it has up its witchy sleeves that can't be ignored!

The first is Magic Bounce, an ability that sends status moves back at the opponent. That means that Hatterne can be a great setter to bring in later on in a match. The other is that it's usually paired with female Indeedee, another great Psychic-type that automatically summons Psychic Terrain. Not only does this prevent priority moves, but it makes Psychic-type moves even stronger. This duo can easily make their way through just about any team.

4 Mimikyu

Mimikyu might seem like an odd choice since it actually has a decent 96 base Speed, but its Disguise ability and solid bulk mean that it can easily stick around to make sure that Trick Room is set up.

What's really cool about Mimikyu as a setter is that it can dish out serious damage while also supporting its teammates. Sure, it can use Will-O-Wisp and Taunt, but it can also hit hard with Play Rough and Shadow Claw. It can even use Shadow Sneak to make sure it can get the first attack even when slower Pokemon are out.

3 Dusclops

Trick Room allows a lot of Pokemon that you normally wouldn't think about to shine and this includes a lot of middle evolutions. One of the best examples of this is Dusclops who is able to be an incredible support Pokemon.

While most of its stats are low, its Defense and Special Defense are high even before Eviolite is equipped. This means that Dusclops can use this to set up Trick Room and help out its teammates with moves like Will-O-Wisp, Pain Split, and Ally Switch. It can even do some decent damage since it learns Night Shade, a move that always deals damage equal to the user's level. Because of all this, Dusclops is always an excellent choice for Trick Room Teams.

2 Calyrex-Ice

Here we have the greatest Trick Room setter and sweeper hybrid, Calyrex-Ice. It has everything! Awesome Attack, incredible bulk, great typing. Heck, it even gets two abilities! But what really sets it apart is its move pool.

Calyrex-Ice can learn Glacial Lance, a move that has a 130 base power and 100 percent accuracy. Combine this with High Horsepower, and you're hitting over half of all Pokemon for Super Effective Damage! Calyrex-Ice is a beast, but even with all of this, it isn't the best Trick Room setter.

1 Porygon2

There's an old adage that says, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." This definitely applies to Porygon2. Having been around since the second generation, it would be easy for it to be outclassed. Yet, Porygon2 has been the premier Trick Room setter since 2012.

This is because of its bulk after Eviolite combined with reliable health recovery. Not only that, but Porygon2 gets access to great support moves like Thunder Wave, Eerie Impulse, and Teleport. It also has a decent Special Attack and can defend itself with Ice Beam, Tri-Attack, and Foul Play. Combine all of this with only one weakness and you have the best Trick Room Pokemon since the move was invented.

Top recruitment and tech execs give their tips for getting ahead at work - CNBC

Executives at leading recruitment and technology companies have shared with CNBC their top tips for getting ahead in the workplace.

Workers continue to hold most of the cards in the labor market, with the "Great Resignation" still underway. Nevertheless, it's still important to understand the best ways to maximize your opportunities at work, particularly if we are set to face a recession in the near future.

Speaking to CNBC's Karen Tso on a panel at this year's World Economic Forum summit in Davos, Switzerland, Rebecca Henderson, CEO of global businesses at human resource services firm Randstad, urged women in particular to negotiate and ask for they want.

"You're still in a very strong negotiating position, particularly skilled workers, and my best advice is to be very upfront with what you want and ask for it," she said.

Indeed, a survey by Fidelity Investments published in May found that 85% of Americans who tried to negotiate on the compensation they were offered for a new job, got at least some of what they asked for.

Meanwhile, Harry Moseley, global co-chief information officer at video conferencing software firm Zoom, believed it was important to be passionate, purposeful and enthusiastic, as well as encouraging workers to take risks.

"I am in my role at Zoom because of the risks that I took much earlier in my career," he said, adding that people shouldn't be intimidated to take chances.

Allen Blue, co-founder and vice president of product management at LinkedIn, said helping people was a good way to build your network: "You will love helping those people, it will be great, you will enjoy every minute of it, I swear, and you're gonna build a group of connections and relationships which are going to surround you with opportunity."

Moseley called this kind of network a "personal board" — a group of advisors made up of friends and colleagues that you can turn to for advice.

Building a bench in business means ensuring employees undergo some kind of training to learn the duties of their superiors or coworker so that they can step in if someone is unable to work or leaves suddenly.

It is smart to regularly train your employees who can fill the void and keep the business running during this uneasy period of transition. This is disappointing to yourself and to your client — and bad for your long-term business. A happy founder, happy friends and family, and satisfied customers all work together to create a rewarding and solid business.

It's officially tick season, and depending on where you live, that means it's more important to check yourself, your family members and your pets for those pesky bloodsuckers after you've spent time outdoors. 

Ticks add an extra layer of anxiety, too, because they sometimes carry illness, such as Lyme disease -- so not finding them can have serious consequences. And if you accidentally break off part of the tick while trying to remove it, it can still transmit its illness and the bite can also get infected.

In short, ticks suck. So if you find one on your body, how do you get it off? The CDC recommends using fine-tipped tweezers for removing ticks, but what if you don't have any handy?

I discovered a little-known tip some years ago, and it forever changed how I remove the little biters. Here's how to remove ticks quickly, easily and safely -- if you don't have, or can't find, tweezers. (We've also got tips for how to protect your pets from ticks this season.) 

Try this Q-tip tick trick

Yes, you can remove a tick with a Q-tip.

Folk methods for removing ticks are usually bunk for one of a few reasons. Either they aim to induce the tick to detach with time -- when you should remove ticks immediately to minimize chances of disease transmission -- or they risk injuring the tick's host (fire burns skin as well as ticks, after all).

But this method is quick and harmless. All you need is a Q-tip.

When you locate an attached tick, immediately grab a Q-tip, and gently twirl tight circles around the wound, lightly pulling at the tick. The goal here is not to pull the tick free, but to cause it to release and latch onto the Q-tip. It should happen within moments.

I've removed many ticks this way, and it is invariably quick and painless. What's more, you have virtually no risk of leaving mouth pieces in the wound, since the tick detaches itself.

If, on the off chance, something goes wrong, you can always still run out to the store and get some tweezers, as the CDC recommends.

Once you dispose of the tick, you can clean the bite with soap and water or alcohol -- and if you're worried about disease transmission, follow up with the appropriate steps.

Make Coming Back To Work After A Long Weekend More Pleasant With This Trick - Forbes

We've all felt the dread of returning to work after a long weekend. It's nearly a truism that the pleasure one gets from a long weekend is more than offset by the mountain of work awaiting us upon our return. But there is a trick that can assuage at least some of the return-to-work pain.

First, it's important to understand that a good bit of the return-to-work pain stems from having a to-do list that looks like it grew tenfold during our day off. Based on the tens of thousands who have taken Leadership IQ's online quiz "How Do Your Time Management Skills Stack Up?" we know that more than two-thirds of people feel like they don't have enough time to do everything they want to do. And a good dose of that comes from the majority of people having a lengthy to-do list rather than a short list of essential priorities.

Perhaps most striking is that people who have a short list of essential priorities are nearly 50% more likely to leave work feeling like "today was a really successful day" than those with lengthy to-do lists.

Second, it's critical to know that about 71% of people report frequent interruptions when they're working. And even more striking is that the people who can block out interruptions are about 52% more likely to end their workday feeling like "today was a really successful day.”

While interruptions are intuitively disruptive, there's actually neurological evidence for the distress they cause. In one study, University of Michigan researchers found that people lost significant time when they switched from one task to another. And the more complicated the tasks, the more time was lost. So it's no surprise that the more people get interrupted, the less productive they become, and that lost productivity translates into an eroded sense of well-being.

Given the evidence that having a shorter list of priorities and preventing interruptions can drive both better productivity and well-being, what's the ideal action plan? For starters, whatever day you come back to the office, block out the first few hours of that day. Mark them off on your calendar, avoid meetings, and generally do whatever you can do to avoid getting interrupted by non-stop requests from others.

Then, during those hours that you've blocked off, pick a few (ideally one, two or three) top priorities and focus intensely on completing those tasks or projects. Completing those top priorities will drastically increase your sense of accomplishment and feelings of productivity. It's critical to have clearly defined tasks with start and end points; otherwise, you're likely to feel like you're getting swept away in a tidal wave of to-dos.

Now, the final piece of this plan is to map out the morning of your return-to-work at the end of the day before you start the long weekend. For example, if you're taking Monday off, then map out what your Tuesday morning will look like on Friday afternoon before you start your long weekend.

Most people are so eager to start the long weekend that they forget how awful their first day back is going to feel. But truly, taking 15-minutes on Friday to plan the morning of the first day back will pay dividends. Not only will that first day back be far less painful, but it will prevent the feelings of dread that inevitably creep in the night before the first day back. You're much less likely to dread the next morning when you've developed a crystal-clear plan for how that morning will proceed.

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 8 oz dry lo mein noodles
  • 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 cups coleslaw mix
  • 1 red bell peppers, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp less sodium soy sauce
  • Optional ingredients for garnish: peanuts, scallions, lime wedges, sesame seeds

Directions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook lo mein noodles according to package directions. Drain thoroughly and rinse with cold water to stop cooking.
  2. Meanwhile, place a large wok or deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil, coleslaw mix, bell pepper, and garlic and cook, stirring frequently, until vegetables are tender and coleslaw begins to brown, about 4 to 6 minutes.
  3. Add noodles and soy sauce to the skillet and cook, stirring frequently, until noodles are heated through.
