WHAT: Euro 2020, Last 16
LINE: Belgium +140 | Draw +220 | Portugal +220
KICK OFF: Sunday, June 27th, 3PM EST
WHERE: Estadio de la Cartuja, Seville, Spain
WATCH: ABC, ESPN, Univision, TDN
Heavyweights Belgium and Portugal meet in Seville on Sunday for one of the Last 16’s marquee ties.
Despite winning all three games scoring seven, and conceding one, sportsbooks have dropped Belgium (+1000) from third favorite pre-tournament to the seventh favorite. Roberto Martinez’s side finds themselves on the difficult side of the bracket, but they should have enough to make it to the semi-finals at least.
Sportsbooks have Portugal (+1400) ranked as eighth favorites to win Euro 2020. The 2016 winners finished third in Group F and had a mixed bag of results, getting taken apart by Germany 4-2 and holding favorites France to a 2-2 draw. Fernando Santos has a lot of work on his hands to get them to the latter stages.

BELGIUM POSSIBLE STARTING XI
Eden Hazard is close to reaching full fitness after completing 90 minutes for the first time in over a year against Finland. Martinez could start him in this game, but I don’t think he will take the risk. Dries Mertens will get the nod up top alongsidee Romelu Lukaka and Kevin De Bruyne.
Axel Witsel will keep his place in central midfield and partner Youri Tielemans. The Borussia Dortmund tore his Achilles in January and was expected to be out for nine months but managed to return in four and a half. Timothy Castagne’s withdrawal from the squad after fracturing his eye socket against Russia means Thomas Meunier will start.
I would go with Yannick Carrasco at left wing-back over Thorgan Hazard. Carrasco has flourished in that position under Diego Simeone at Atlético Madrid, helping them win La Liga this season.
For the back three, Martinez will stick with the players he picked against Russia in the opening game Jan Verthongen, Jason Denayer, and Toby Alderweireld.

PORTUGAL POSSIBLE STARTING XI
I’m confident Santos will stick with the same 4-3-3 lineup that started against France. Portugal looked better at retaining the ball in central midfield with João Moutinho and Renato Sanches, meaning Bruno Fernandes and William Carvalho will remain on the bench.
Nélson Semedo and Danilo Pereira are expected to start this game despite going off injured against France. Diego Dalot and Ruben Neves are ready to come in if needed.
In the front three, Bernardo Silva and Diogo Jota will support the joint-record international goalscorer, Cristiano Ronaldo. He scored two from the spot (third penalty of the competition) against France to equal Ali Daei’s record of 109 goals.
If Penaldo scores in this game, he will become the leading international men’s goalscorer……………………..I can’t wait to see his goal and celebration played over and over and over and over and over and over again. It’s going to be brilliant!

BELGIUM VS PORTUGAL BETTING TIPS
Belgium’s two best attacking players Lukaku and De Bruyne, are at the peak of their powers, and Martinez has better options from the bench. I think Witsel and Tielemans could be one of the best central midfield partnerships at Euro 2020. Portugal’s tournament ends here.
BETTING TIP: Belgium Money Line +140
Pepe is one of the dirtiest players I have ever seen and, at 38-years-old way past his best. Up against the brilliant Lukaku, I think it’s very likely he’ll get booked.
BETTING TIP: Pepe To Get Booked YES +250
I cashed on this bet for Germany vs Hungary and like it a lot for this game. Both sides are stronger in attack than they are in defense. I think this match will open up in the second half, and we’ll see goals as both sides try to progress.
BETTING TIP: Total Goals Second Half Over 1.5 +130
