MACKINAC ISLAND, MI - If you love all things Halloween and are looking to get an early start celebrating in spook-tacular fashion, Mackinac Island will host holiday festivities with its Halloween Weekend Oct. 22-24.
Kids dressed up as ninjas, cowboys, princesses and more can trick-or-treat at businesses downtown and as night falls, adults who dress up can show off their own costumes at downtown party spots. It’s also the weekend the island will see runners - and walkers - for the Great Turtle Trail Run and half marathon. This race route is one of the most scenic in Michigan, kicking off near Mission Point Resort and following the island’s shoreline past Arch Rock before switching to interior trails and roads.
“The last weekend in October closes out the season on Mackinac Island,” island tourism bureau staff said. “On Saturday, join us to celebrate Halloween with the Great Turtle Trail Run, trick-or-treating for kids through downtown shops, and Halloween costume parties for adults throughout island establishments in the evening.”
