No tricks: Here's where to find treats this Halloween weekend in Mecosta County - The Pioneer

MECOSTA COUNTY — Trick-or-treat or trunk-or-treat. However your little, and not-so-little, ghouls and goblins prefer to get their Halloween candy, Mecosta County has you covered.

Here’s a list of fall festivals, truck-or-treat events, and residential trick-or-treat hours.

BIG RAPIDS

• Big Rapids DBA Chili Cook Off and Beer Tent: 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at Big Rapids City Hall parking lot, 226 N. Michigan Ave., Big Rapids.

• Betten Baker Trunk or Treat: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at Betten Baker, 14120 Northland Drive, Big Rapids

• Big Rapids DBA Fall Festival Family Day: Noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, on North Michigan Avenue in downtown Big Rapids. Activities include truck or treat (noon to 2 p.m.), celebrity pumpkin roll (3 p.m.) craft show (2-6 p.m.) and family friendly activities (2-6 p.m.).

• BRCL Fall Festival: 3-9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at the Big Rapids Community Library, 426 S. Michigan Ave., Big Rapids. Join Mr. Howard at 3 p.m. for crafts, a cookie walk, lollipop pull and other fun activities. A family friendly movie begins at 6:30 p.m. Bring your own seat.

• Big Rapids Twp. Fire Dept. Halloween Party: 6-10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at Big Rapids Township Fire Department, 14212 Northland Drive, Big Rapids. Free admission, lots of free stuff from area businesses, coffee, cider, the haunted maze and more.

• Big Rapids Residential Trick-or-Treating Hours: 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31

MORLEY STANWOOD

• Stanwood Eagles Trunk or Treat: 4-5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at parking lot near Fraternal Order of Eagles, 7200 Stanwood Drive, Stanwood

• Peacock Real Estate Trunk or Treat: 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at Peacock Real Estate, 18030 3 Mile Road, Morley.

• Trick-or-Treat Through the Trail: 5:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at, Morley Stanwood Bands' Haunted Trail, off Jefferson Street, about a half mile west of downtown Morley. Walk through the trail, where creatures will be handing out sweet treats.

• Morley Stanwood Elementary Trick the Halls: 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at Morley Stanwood Elementary School, 4808 Northland Dr., Morley. Roam the halls of MSE to find treats. Includes a costume contest, cake walk, games, a haunted house and photo booth.

• Brockway Wesleyan Trunk or Treat: 5- 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at Brockway Wesleyan Church, 10951 3 Mile Road, Morley. Includes free hot dogs and hot cocoa, while they last.

CHIPPEWA HILLS

• Barryton Fall Craft Show & Trick or Treating: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at the Barryton Conservation Club, 3444 18 Mile Road, Barryton.

• Barryton's Residential Trick or Treat Hours: 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30

• Ag-Oween Halloween Drive Thru: 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at Young Farms, 8396 70th Ave. Mecosta

• Mecosta VFW Post 2335 Trunk or Treat: 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at 1050 W. Main St., Mecosta.

• Chippewa-Martiny Fire Department Open House/Halloween Party: 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at Chippewa Township Community Center, 10467 19 Mile Road, Rodney

• Chippewa Lake Trunk or Treat: 5-7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at 10545 Dwight St., Chippewa Lake.
