Each day of the WNBA season, our team of fantasy and betting experts breaks down every game on the slate, making note of everything from injuries and lineup changes to recent trends and more.
Here's what to look for during today's slate:
Minnesota Lynx at Indiana Fever
7:00 p.m ET, Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, IN
Line: Lynx (-4)
Money line: Lynx (-180), Mystics (+150)
Total: 159 points
Questionable: Angel McCoughtry (knee), Queen Egbo (foot)
Ruled out: Damiris Dantas (foot), Napheesa Collier (personal), Natalie Achonwa
Fantasy need to know:
Centers Damiris Dantas, Napheesa Collier and Natalie Achonwa are out on Tuesday, opening the door for Jessica Shepard (available in 71.2% of ESPN leagues) to dominate on the glass. Shepard has averaged 12.5 PPG, 12.0 RPG and 4.5 APG in 33.5 MPG through the first two games of the season, making her one of the top adds for this week.
Destanni Henderson (available in 87.2% of leagues) had a team-high 19 points, three rebounds, three assists, three 3-pointers and two steals on Sunday. Henderson is one of several rookies contributing on the rebuilding Fever, and clearly has impact upside on any given night.
Alanna Smith (available in 99.8% of leagues) scored a career-high 10 points with two rebounds, two blocks, two 3-pointers and a steal in 17 minutes on Sunday. She got extended run after Queen Egbo left the game with a foot injury. Egbo is questionable to play on Tuesday, and was spotted in a walking boot on Monday, so Smith could again be in for a larger role.
Las Vegas Aces at Washington Mystics
7:00 p.m ET, Entertainment & Sports Arena, Washington, DC
Line: Aces (-5)
Money line: Aces (-210), Mystics (+170)
Total: 165 points
Questionable: Elena Delle Donne (back)
Ruled out: Alysha Clark (foot)
Fantasy need to know: Shakira Austin (available in 84.6% of leagues) got a spot start on Sunday in place of Elena Delle Donne and had a 13-point,10-rebound double-double in just her second WNBA game. The assumption is that Delle Donne will be available on Tuesday, so Austin likely goes back to a smaller role, but due to injuries and overseas commitments Austin is one of only a few frontcourt players available for the Mystics. She has demonstrated she can play when called upon, so she is worth keeping an eye on.
Best bet: Mystics -5
Assuming Delle Donne plays, this is a must-see matchup. The Aces are a championship favorite, let by A'ja Wilson, and they've won their first two games by double digits. But the Mystics have also won their first two games by double-digits, are playing at home, and are getting points. The last time Delle Donne was healthy, Washington won the WNBA championship in 2019. I'll pick them to cover tonight. -- André Snellings
