Fantasy need to know: In Sunday's contest at home against the Wings, the Aces won 84-78. Kelsey Plum recorded her highest point total of the season with 32. This was her third 30-point game in her career. As a team, the Aces lead the league with 91 PPG, 9.3 3PM, 36.8 3P% and 36.8 RPG. In terms of defensive rating, Las Vegas ranks sixth. The Sparks, on the other hand, fired coach Derek Fisher just 12 games into the season on Tuesday. Los Angeles, one of three original WNBA franchises still standing, hopes to return to the postseason after missing out last season. So far, they've played nine games on the road and are 5-7 after the first third of the 2022 regular season. While the Sparks rank third in offensive rating (102.7), they rank 12th in defensive rating (107.2). The Sparks last played against the Phoenix Mercury, losing 81-74.
The Aces are a fantasy basketball powerhouse. Managers should start Plum, A'ja Wilson, Jackie Young, Dearica Hamby, and Chelsea Gray. This season, all five players average 25.5 or more fantasy points. From a streaming perspective, if Young (who is dealing with a lower leg injury) is ruled out, then Theresa Plaisance is someone you shoulder consider. She started against the Wings on Sunday and scored 15 fantasy points. Plaisance is available in 95% of leagues.
In fantasy basketball, Nneka Ogwumike, Liz Cambage and Brittney Sykes are must-starts for the Sparks. Ogwumike has averaged 35 fantasy points over the past five games. Cambage, a much-publicized offseason addition, has averaged 15.3 PPG, 6.1 RPG, 2.0 APG, and 2.0 BPG this season. Sykes has scored 26-plus fantasy points in both of her last two games. Consider Jordin Canada (42.6% rostered) and Katie Lou Samuelson (22.7% rostered) if you are looking for streamers. Samuelson has been particularly impressive, scoring 21-plus fantasy points in four of her last five games. -- Eric Moody
Best bet: Aces (-8)
The Las Vegas offense will be too much for Los Angeles to handle tonight. The Aces are 3-1 in their road games against the spread. Las Vegas should cover here. -- Moody
