Fantasy Need to Know: The Sun (14-8) travel to Indiana (5-19) to take on a Fever team that is desperately looking to stop its six-game losing streak. Connecticut ranks third in the league with 83.9 PPG, second with 36.1 RPG and fifth with 20.5 APG. Only the Chicago Sky (47.6%) have a higher field goal percentage than the Sun (45.5%). With a defensive rating of 96.5, Connecticut ranks fourth. The Fever rank 11th with 78.2 PPG. The only team that averages fewer PPG is the Atlanta Dream (77.7). With a defensive rating of 107.8, the Fever rank 11th.
This is the fourth meeting this season between Indiana and Connecticut, both members of the Eastern Conference. On June 8, the Sun won 88-69. A plethora of top performers can be found at the Sun, and they should be in your lineups. Leading Connecticut in numerous statistical categories, Jonquel Jones averages 31.1 fantasy points per game. Alyssa Thomas has outperformed her preseason average draft position this season. She has averaged 29.9 fantasy points per game. DeWanna Bonner, Brionna Jones and Courtney Williams have all averaged 23 or more fantasy points. Because she plays a high number of minutes, Natisha Hiedeman continues to be a solid but inconsistent streamer. She's available in 88.6% of leagues. Hiedeman has averaged 17.9 fantasy points per game. The Fever are the youngest team in the league.
The most reliable fantasy options for Indiana are Kelsey Mitchell and NaLyssa Smith. Queen Egbo, who's available in 47.3% of leagues, is close to returning from the COVID-19 protocols. She's a very capable streamer, averaging 20.3 fantasy points per game. In deeper formats, you should consider Victoria Vivians, who is available in 54.4% of leagues, and Emily Engstler, who is available in 74.7% of leagues if you are looking for streamers.
Best bet: Sun -9. The Sun rank third with an offensive rating of 104. Connecticut is an experienced team facing one of the worst defensive teams in the league. The Sun will cover. -- Eric Moody
