INKSTER, MI – A group of men tricked two women and stolen $5,000 in cash from their home, and then returned a month later and assaulted them, officials said.
The first home invasion happened around 9:25 a.m. on Aug. 8 when a man told the women there was a problem with their water or gas lines, luring them outside, WDIV Local 4 reports. While they were outside, accomplices entered the home and stole $5,000 in cash. The men fled to a dark-colored Ford.
Around 2:05 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, the men returned. The homeowner saw them and closed the door but they forced their way inside, the report said. The suspects assaulted the 84-year-old homeowner and her 59-year-old daughter. They fled in a white vehicle. Nothing was stolen.
