JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University basketball is hosting its annual tip-off event, Phin Phever, on Friday, Oct. 21 at Swisher Gymnasium at 7:30 p.m.
 
The event features both men's and women's teams and is free to the public.
 
Activities include:
 
- Men's and Women's team introductions
- 3-point competition between members of the men's and women's programs
- 3-point competition between a student and men's basketball alum Dee Brown
- Women's basketball skills competition
- 1-on-1 competition with a student vs. men's basketball assistant coach Trevor Deloach
- Spirit team performance
- Slam dunk competition
- And much more!
 
The pre-event "Party at the Plaza" features food trucks, activities, music and more and is located at the Kinne Center plaza directly across Dolphin Drive from Swisher Gym, starting at 6 p.m.
 
The season opener for women's basketball is Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. and the men's basketball home opener is Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased HERE.
