MUSKEGON COUNTY, MI - Halloween is fast approaching, and that means costumed trick-or-treaters will be out on that spooky night when it is acceptable to fill pillowcases and buckets full of candy.
The holiday falls on Monday, Oct. 31 this year. Since it is the start of the school week, many families are looking to see what time is appropriate for their children to walk the neighborhood in their fun and scary costumes.
Here are times for community trick-or-treat or trunk-or-treat events in Muskegon and some surrounding areas.
Trick-or-Treat Times:
- City of Muskegon: Monday, Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m.
- City of Muskegon Heights: Monday, Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m.
- City of Norton Shores: Monday, Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m.
- City of Roosevelt Park: Monday, Oct. 31, 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.
- City of Whitehall: Monday, Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m.
- City of Montague: Monday, Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m.
- Fruitport Charter Township: Monday, Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m.
- City of Grand Haven: Monday, Oct. 31, 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
- Village of Spring Lake: Residential trick or treating on Monday, Oct. 31, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Business trick or treating hours are Monday, Oct. 31, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Trunk-or-Treat Events
Families in the Muskegon looking for an alternative to the traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating can participate in various trunk-or-treat events across the county. Here are some of events happening beginning this week.
- Wednesday, Oct. 26: Trunk-or-Treat at Connection Point Church, 2270 S Mill Iron Rd., 6-7 p.m.
- Thursday, Oct. 27: Trunk-or-Treat at the Muskegon County Fairgrounds, 6621 Heights Ravenna Rd., 6-7:30 p.m.
- Thursday, Oct. 27: Trunk-or-Treat in the parking lot of Northside Nutrition, 1971 Holton Rd STE 5, 6-8 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 29: 2nd annual Phytphyzique Trunk-or-Treat in Norton Shores, 6502 Schamber Dr., 11 a.m. - noon.
- Saturday, Oct. 29: Noah Project Trunk-or-Treat at 5205 Airline Rd, 1-4 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 29: Grand Haven Trunk-or-Treat at the Grand Haven Memorial Airpark, 16446 Comstock St., 2-4 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 29: Trick-or-Treat at Family Farm & Home in Whitehall, 3165 Holton Whitehall Rd., 4-6 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 29: Trunk-or-Treat Fall Festival at 1073 Evanston Ave., at 6 p.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 30: Trunk-or-Treat So Others Can Eat at Laketon Bethel, 1568 W Giles Rd., 3-4:30 p.m.
