COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) -As storms begin to roll in, state emergency management officials want to make sure you are prepared.
Officials shared the following tips:
Power Pointers
- Be sure to charge cell phones
- Have extra batteries on hand
- have flashlights where you can reach them
What to have in emergency kits
- Non-perishable food
- Water
- Medications
- First-aid kit
Driving
- Don’t drive through flooded roadways
Officials also suggest the publish to secure outdoor items when expecting high winds. This means outdoor furniture, garden tools, and outdoor toys.
In case of a tornado warning, officials suggest that you go to the most interior room on the lowest level away from windows and doors.
