A video doing the rounds on TikTok reveals the psychology eye trick that one woman claims is the key to getting the person you like to like you back.

TikTok user Sophie-Rose (@sophieroselloyd) swears by it and says the simple trick, that lasts only a few seconds, can work on anyone you're interested in.

In her post, that has been watched over 808k times online, she explains: "You're going to want to do this on somebody that you know you really like and have a mutual interest with.

"It might not necessarily work on strangers or people that you've never spoken to before up until this point, but it's really good for you're crush or somebody you like - and it's a really good way for making them clear on how you feel and for them to stop in their tracks and be like, 'woah.'"

Explaining when the look works best, she says: "You want to make sure you're in a one-on-one conversation with this person.

"It might not work if you're in a group because their attention might be on all the people around the table, they might not be looking at you for the duration of the time you do it."

How does it work?

It works by you looking at different areas on their face for a second or more at a time.

Showing how to do it, Sophie-Rose says: "You want to look in their left eye for one second, to their lips for one-and-a-half to two seconds and then to their right eye."

Clearing up confusion, she explains that the direction is from your point of view, so you look left first - which actually is their right eye - down to the lips and then to the right - which will be their left eye.

She adds: "You want to make sure it's them speaking to you when you do it, it's probably not going to work if you're speaking while doing it because they'll be looking at your lips when they're moving and not looking at your eyes which is where it kind of all stems from."

Insisting it's a sure fire way to find yourself lucky in love, Sophie-Rose reveals: "I can guarantee if done with the right person at the right time, they will literally be like, 'WHAT?'

"I've done this with people I've liked, I've done it with my best friend just to see if it really, really does work and it definitely does."

Viewers were keen to know more and asked if the trick also works on girls too, with Sophie-Rose replying: "Yes, it works on anyone you have an interest with when they are in a one-to-one conversation with you."

She claims that eye contact has been proven to "enhance relationships".

People were keen to try the trick out for themselves, with thousands commenting on her post.
