WNBA fantasy and betting tips for Wednesday - ESPN

Each day of the WNBA season, our team of fantasy and betting experts breaks down every game on the slate, making note of everything from injuries and lineup changes to recent trends and more.

All odds are provided by Caesars Sportsbook.

Here's what to look for during Wednesday's slate:

Indiana Fever at Connecticut Sun
7:00 p.m. ET, Mohegan Sun Arena, Uncasville, Conn.

Line: Sun (-15.5)
Money line: Fever (+850), Sun (-1600)
Total: 165.5 points

Fantasy need to know: When the Sun play the Fever at home tonight, Jonquel Jones will be looking to have her fourth-straight game with 20 or more points. Over that time, she has averaged 38 fantasy points per game, including 48 against the Seattle Storm on Sunday. At 9-3, the Sun have won five of their last six games and boast the second best record in the league with 87.7 PPG and 48.1 FG%.

Meanwhile, the Fever have the league's worst record and has lost three straight games. Kelsey Mitchell continues to deliver for fantasy managers. In eight of her 13 games, she has scored 20 points or more. Indiana is ranked ninth in offensive rating (96.3) and defensive rating (105.1). The Sun have beaten the Fever twice this season, winning 94-85 at home on May 20 and 92-70 on the road on May 22.

Consider using DiJonai Carrington if you need a streamer. She is available in 94.3% of leagues. As Jasmine Thomas is out for the season with a torn ACL, Carrington's role has increased. Mitchell, NaLyssa Smith, Victoria Vivians, Queen Egbo and Emily Engstler are your top fantasy options for the Fever. It's surprising that Engstler is still available in 55.4% of leagues.

Best bet: Fever +15.5. The Fever may have the worst record in the league, but they are also one of the youngest teams. They are also 3-3 against the spread on the road. The Fever are going through a culture change under interim head coach Carlos Knox, and I believe they will play hard enough to cover the spread. -- Eric Moody

Chicago Sky at Washington Mystics
8:00 p.m. ET, Entertainment & Sports Arena, Washington, D.C.

Line: Mystics (-3.5)
Money line: Sky (+140), Mystics (-160)
Total: 156 points

Ruled out: Julie Allemand (suspension)

Fantasy need to know: Chicago is riding a three-game winning streak, the team's longest of the season. They also had two other two-game winning streaks. As a team, they rank sixth in offensive rating (100.7) and eighth in pace (95.7). They are very balanced, with five players scoring at least 11.1 points per game. In terms of fantasy points per game, Candace Parker leads the way this season with 31.3. The Sky rank third with a defensive rating of 94.8.

As for the Mystics, they have lost two games in a row and sit with a 7-5 record overall. A loss to the New York Liberty two games ago was probably the worst of the season. Mystics scored only 70 points, losing by four points. With an offensive rating of 101.3, Washington ranks fifth for the season. The Mystics rank fourth in defensive rating (95.8). Parker, Courtney Vandersloot, Emma Meesseman, and Kahleah Copper are the top Sky's fantasy options. Consider Rebekah Gardner who is available in 95% of leagues if you need a streamer. In the last three games, she has played 22 or more minutes per game, averaging 18 fantasy points.

For the Mystics Elena Delle Donne, Ariel Atkins and Natasha Cloud are the most reliable fantasy options. After two seasons of being sidelined by a back injury, Delle Donne continues to receive sporadic rest. In order to identify streaming opportunities, fantasy managers must keep this in mind. Tianna Hawkins, who is available in 98% of leagues, thrived on Sunday when Delle Donne was unavailable. She had 29 fantasy points, a season high.

Best Bet: Mystics -3.5. After losing two of the first three games against the Sky this season, Wednesday's game is a crucial one for the Mystics. Washington is 3-2 against the spread in its last five games. The Sky and Mystics are both in the Eastern Conference, so this is an important game for both teams. -- Moody
